April 17 - This Week's Highlights:

From Friday (April 17) to Thursday (April 23), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) will return to theaters for its 40th anniversary. It will be shown at AMC, Cinemark, and Regal.
From Friday (April 17) to Thursday (April 23), Harkins will show The Thing (1982) in 35mm at Tempe Marketplace 16 as part of its Movies In 35MM series. A free commemorative ticket will be included with each ticket.
On Friday (April 17), Majestic (Tempe) will show Purple Rain (1984) in 35mm.
On Friday (April 17), Regal will continue with their Legends of Laughs (LOL) series:

- The Mesa Arts Center will show Ghostbusters (1984) on September 30 with the score performed live by an orchestra. This event is part of the Ghostbusters In Concert tour. Tickets are on sale now. VIP packages are available too.

- Regal and Fangoria are starting a new Fangoria Staff Picks series. On the 13th of every month, Fangoria will show a classic horror movie exclusively at Regal theaters. According to the Fangoria article, a free collectible patch will be given away at each screening. The first movie will be Sinister (2012) and tickets are on sale now.
